Evaluation
Little Hope is the second standalone entry in The Dark Pictures Anthology, released on October 29, 2020. The game shipped as a complete, self-contained horror experience with a bonus mode called the Curator's Cut (alternate character perspectives) included at launch for pre-order buyers and later made freely available.
Post-launch, Supermassive delivered two maintenance patches: one in December 2020 (Patch 1.04) addressing bugs and performance issues, and a more substantial update in December 2022 (version 1.10) which added difficulty settings, QTE warnings, improved UI, updated accessibility options, and increased walk speeds. The store description highlights this upgraded version as the current definitive state of the game, available free to existing owners. No paid DLC or additional story content has ever been listed or released for Little Hope.
The developer's subsequent announcements posted to this page have all been promotions for other entries in the Dark Pictures Anthology — The Devil in Me (November 2022), House of Ashes, and most recently Directive 8020 (announced February 2025, launching October 2025). These confirm Supermassive is actively continuing the anthology as a series, but Little Hope itself is a finished, standalone chapter with no further content planned or announced for it specifically.
The December 2022 patch represents the last substantive update to Little Hope and the point at which the game reached its final, upgraded state.
