The Girl from Arkanya launched on August 21, 2025 as a complete pixel art action RPG. In the weeks following launch, developer BeanBandit was very active, shipping multiple bug fix and quality-of-life patches in rapid succession.
Two post-launch communications explicitly committed to additional free content. In the September 9, 2025 patch notes, the developer stated their goal of "providing free content updates." Then in the October 1, 2025 Patch 1.03 notes, the developer addressed players who had already finished the game directly: "rest assured that new content is coming, and these changes should hopefully improve your experience quite a bit when you return for it." This is an unambiguous public commitment to future content.
The most recent developer communication was a minor bug fix patch on October 14, 2025. Since that date — nearly a full year as of today, October 8, 2026 — there have been no further posts, patches, or announcements of any kind. The promised free content has not appeared, and the developer has not provided any update on its status. This extended silence against an outstanding content commitment is a concern for anyone waiting on that content.

Join Marisa and Kapi as they journey into the jungles of Amazonia! The Girl from Arkanya is a pixel art action RPG that draws inspiration from 2D Zelda classics such as Minish Cap and Four Swords Adventures. Our tale begins in Arkanya, a city at the edge of the world. In a realm of danger and mystery, Marisa the Treasure Hunter strives to build a reputation for herself and carry on her family's legacy.
Along the way, a terrible turn of events forces Marisa to work alongside an unusual ally, a magical capybara known to the land as Ka'apiuara Yum Kaax. But you can call him Kapi!
Now they embark on an epic journey to save their home!

- Obtain Unique Items! Use 15 equippable tools to solve puzzles, traverse terrain, and defeat your foes. Each item offers a new playstyle and allows you to progress in ways you couldn't previously, and some can be upgraded into even stronger versions!
- Learn Ancient Magic! With each dungeon you complete, Marisa obtains a new spell which can be activated by performing sacred dances. These dances provide new powers to both Marisa and Kapi, granting each of them special abilities!
- Swap Between Two Playable Characters! Alternating between controlling Marisa and Kapi is crucial to overcoming many of the challenges that await you in Amazonia.
- Bring a Friend! The Girl from Arkanya features local co-op, allowing a second player to drop in and out of the adventure at any time.
