The Hotel launched on November 16, 2022 and received a steady stream of patches and feature updates in the months following release. The developer (IL PALA) was actively engaged with the community, shipping updates roughly every 1–4 weeks from launch through early March 2023, addressing bugs, adding new languages, reworking animations, and introducing a notable content addition in the V1.5 "First Class Upgrade" on February 8, 2023 — which added an Arena mode (with side stories and score-based rewards), four new unlockable weapons, and new animations. The last recorded developer communication was a small bug-fix patch on March 2, 2023. Since then, there have been no further posts, announcements, or updates of any kind. The January 2023 patch notes (NEWS-5) mentioned several future plans such as a randomizer mode and missions with new characters, but the February 2023 V1.5 release addressed several of those items (new animations, new costumes, new content modes). No post-V1.5 communication has reaffirmed any of those remaining plans, and the developer has been silent since March 2, 2023 — over three years ago as of today. Given the absence of any new announcements, unreleased DLC, or developer activity since early 2023, the game appears to have reached its final state with the V1.55 patch on March 2, 2023.

Inspired by survival horror games of the last decade, The Hotel follows the story of Alex and Judie, as fate leads them to a dark and forgotten hotel while on vacation.
It's not long before they are plunged into terror and encounter zombies and other creatures. In order to survive, they must solve a series of puzzles, find hints, and grab all the weapons and ammo they can find. Will they be able to escape? Only you can decide.
The main game takes place in an hotel that has almost 90 different rooms to explore and secrets to find. You'll need to solve puzzle to progress through the story. Some are easy, while others are more tricky. Your ammo reserves will be limited, so you'll need to play smart in order to stay alive and escape.
The Hotel features two different routes:
At the beginning you will play as Alex. Once you finish his route, Judie will be unlocked and you'll play through a slightly different version of the story.
Finally, the choices you make along the way will unlock different costumes for your characters. Can you find them all?
