THE LAST TRAIN: Baquedano

The Last Train: Baquedano launched on May 14, 2025 and received a series of post-launch updates. A major update on May 30, 2025 added a new canonical ending and story elements. A patch followed in June adding controller support and gameplay improvements. On September 3, 2025, the developer announced the "Patapim Update" — their largest update yet — adding a new area, puzzles, and new characters. The Halloween update on October 24, 2025 delivered a new zone and new character, and in that same post the developer explicitly stated it "marks the end of an important chapter" for the game — a clear signal that post-launch content development had concluded. After that point, the game expanded to consoles on January 22, 2026 (a port, not new story content), and on June 29, 2026 the developer shipped a Speedrun Update adding a speedrun mode, Steam Trading Cards, and performance optimizations. While this June 2026 update adds new features, it is quality-of-life and meta-game content (a timing mode and collectible cards), not new story or world content. The developer's October 2025 statement about an "important chapter" ending still stands as the clearest signal about narrative and content completion. No new story content or future content has been announced since that date. The game appears to have reached its complete form as a short, self-contained psychological horror experience.
