The Lord of the Rings: Gollum launched on May 25, 2023 to a poor critical and player reception. The day after launch, the developer posted a public apology acknowledging the game did not meet expectations and committed to patches to address bugs and technical issues. The studio then delivered a substantial bug-fix patch (version 2.2) on July 27, 2023, which was the last official communication from the developer.
All five DLC items — the Original Soundtrack, Emotes Pack, Sindarin VO, Lore Compendium, and Art Exhibition — were released on launch day and represent cosmetic or supplementary content rather than story expansions. There are no unreleased DLC items listed on the store.
The developer has made no announcements of future content, expansions, or ongoing development since the July 27, 2023 patch.
