Evaluation

The Mooseman launched on February 17, 2017 as a self-contained atmospheric adventure game based on finno-ugric mythology. Its only DLC is a Soundtrack and Artbook bundle that shipped on the same day as the game itself — there is no post-launch paid content. Developer communications on The Mooseman's Steam page after launch consist of a small number of bug-fix and compatibility patches, the most substantive being a September 17, 2017 update adding a Linux build and improving translations. After that, Morteshka's public communications shifted entirely to announcing and developing their next title, Black Book (announced January 2020, launched August 2021), and then One-Eyed Likho (launched July 2025). Neither of those announcements involved any new content for The Mooseman. The store description presents the game as a complete, self-contained experience across three mythological worlds with no mention of future updates or expansions. There are no unreleased DLC listings, no developer roadmap, and no statements indicating further content was ever planned beyond what shipped. The game was built and released as a finished product, and the studio has since moved on to new projects entirely.
