Evaluation
The Promised Land launched on April 25, 2014 as a complete, self-contained colony-building strategy game. The store description describes a finished product with defined features — over 10 hours of gameplay, a step-by-step tutorial, and a full set of mechanics — with no mention of post-launch content, expansions, or ongoing updates.
Reviewing the developer's news posts on the game's Steam page, none of them relate to The Promised Land itself. All seven posts are promotional announcements for entirely separate games published by the same studio (Cats on Duty, Tetragon, Demon Skin, Merchants of the Caribbean, MOAI games, and Farm Frenzy titles). The closest connection is a March 2021 post for Merchants of the Caribbean that references The Promised Land fans, suggesting the studio sees it as a spiritual predecessor rather than an actively supported product.
There are no DLC listings, no announced updates, no roadmaps, and no developer statements about future content for The Promised Land. The game has never received post-launch content updates and launched as a finished product. With no evidence of any ongoing or planned development activity since its 2014 release, the game is complete.

About this game

An untamed land where you will have to make everything on your own –to provide your people with food and shelter then to give them job and protection. Day by day you will have to remake your production plans, switch your workers to find out the best solution for each industry. But keep in mind, that every citizen has his own temper that one day can be shown off. And that’s not the only difficulty that may will face. Pirates and wild tribes are all around this Promised Land to disturb your presence and development here.
To create a developed colony one will not only need to become keen in production, but also in science. Experience points that you earn in the Academy, will be needed to get the access to advanced technologies or your town would be just another village on this land. Think well over what and where you spend your points on, because your choice will depend on the fate of the entire colony!
