The Rewinder launched on September 9, 2021 and received one paid story expansion — "Root of Evil" — on March 11, 2022, along with a soundtrack DLC. Both DLC entries in the store listing are released, and no additional DLC has been announced or listed for the original game since then.
Post-launch, the developer continued to ship feature updates through 2023 (most notably a controller support and Japanese localization patch in August 2023), but no further story content or named expansions were ever announced for the original game. There are no unreleased DLC items on the store page.
The developer's focus has since shifted entirely to The Rewinder 2, which was announced in April 2024, had a public demo in October 2024, and officially launched on May 26, 2025. The announcement of a sequel bundled with the original strongly implies the first game's content cycle is complete — the studio has moved on. No post-launch statements suggest additional content is planned for the original title.

About this game
The Rewinder is a 2D puzzle adventure game inspired by traditional Chinese folklore.
The game uses pixel art to mimic the aesthetics of Chinese ink paintings. Players will get to meet mythological figures such as the Spirit Wardens, the Ox-head and Horse-face Guardians of the Beyond, and the Tudi Gong (Keeper of the Land).
The player takes on the role of Yun, a "rewinder" who has the ability to enter people's memories and influence their actions. By utilizing "senses" and swaying others' "intentions", he can change history.
At the request of the Spirit Wardens, Yun goes to a small village to investigate why a spirit couldn't be reincarnated. The once thriving village has been deserted and filled with resentful spirits, leaving one woman alone in the teahouse. Who's she waiting for? Where did all the other villagers go? What really happened seven years ago?
