The Wild at Heart

The Wild at Heart launched on May 19, 2021 and received a solid run of post-launch patches and quality-of-life updates throughout its first year. The major milestone was the Field Guide Update (version 1.1) on November 16, 2021, which added new gameplay modes, accessibility features, and significant quality-of-life improvements. On January 27, 2022, Moonlight Kids published a post explicitly titled the "Farewell For Now" patch, stating: "This will likely be our last update for the foreseeable future. We will of course continue to hotfix any critical bugs that pop up, but otherwise it's time for us to move on." They confirmed the team was ramping up work on a new project. True to that statement, subsequent communications have been maintenance-only: a bug fix patch in November 2022, another in May 2024, and a small hotfix in January 2026. The January 2026 patch explicitly opens with "We're working hard on our new game, Echo Weaver" — further confirming the studio's focus has shifted. The new game (Echo Weaver) had a playable demo available as of July 2024. The only DLC listed is the game's soundtrack, which released the day after launch. No new content has been announced or is pending. The game is complete as the developer intended it, with ongoing minor maintenance patches being offered out of goodwill to the playerbase.
