Evaluation
There Came an Echo launched on February 24, 2015 as a complete single-player strategy game. In the weeks following launch, Iridium Studios shipped a series of patches adding bug fixes, new features, and multi-language support (Spanish, German, Italian, French, Portuguese, Korean, and Russian), wrapping up that post-launch support work by late March/early April 2015. Both DLC items — the Original Soundtrack and the Art Book — released alongside the game on launch day. No additional DLC, expansions, or content updates have been announced or released since that initial support period.
The most recent developer communication is a February 23, 2026 post in which Iridium Studios announces a brand-new game, People of Note. In that post, the developer explicitly reflects on There Came an Echo as a completed past project, saying "we released... There Came an Echo in 2015... I'm incredibly proud of what we few scrappy warriors managed back then." This framing makes clear the studio has moved on and considers There Came an Echo a finished work. There is no mention of any future updates or content for it.
There Came an Echo is a complete, finished game with no further content planned.

Iridium Studios announces a new game, People of Note, and reflects on There Came an Echo as a past completed project: 'we released There Came an Echo in 2015... I'm incredibly proud of what we few scrappy warriors managed back then.' No mention of future updates for There Came an Echo.
Portuguese, Korean, and Russian language support added, with only Japanese and Chinese remaining — part of the post-launch localization and patch cycle that concluded in early April 2015.

About this game
***Note: There Came an Echo, though designed primarily for voice commands, is fully playable without them.***
Ender Wiggin. Admiral Ackbar. That dude who commands the G.I. Joes. These totally rad commanders knew that battles are won not by a single footsoldier, but by issuing precise commands that put their units in position to achieve victory.
In There Came an Echo, follow in those commanders' footsteps by giving orders to Corrin Webb (Wil Wheaton) and his squadmates in a unique real-time strategy experience. Using an advanced voice recognition system, direct your units through a variety of mission types against foes armed with futuristic energy weaponry and personal force fields. Make your move with standard commands ("All units, advance to Bravo 3!") or utilize custom variants to express your unique personality ("Everyone, do the worm over to Buttface 3!"). Keep it classy, folks.
Follow a complex, character-driven sci-fi plot: Corrin, an ordinary cryptographer, is thrown into a deadly game of secret agendas when a group of mercenaries tracks him down in Santa Monica, California. Guided by the mysterious Val (Ashly Burch), Corrin must escape from a foe with seemingly limitless resources and discover what secrets his own unbreakable algorithm, Radial Lock, is safeguarding...information that, if released, will rattle the very foundations of reality itself. Also starring Laura Bailey, Yuri Lowenthal, Cassandra Morris, Rachel Robinson, and Cindy Robinson.
