There Is No Light originally launched on September 19, 2022. Following release, the developer Zelart published a roadmap and delivered steady patches and improvements throughout late 2022. On January 7, 2023, they shipped the "Soul Harvest" update — described as the biggest post-release update ever — which added 14 new boss-soul abilities, a full combat rebalance, and numerous quality-of-life improvements. Alongside this update, the developer explicitly rebranded the game as "There Is No Light: Enhanced Edition," stating that this update represented the completion of the roadmap they had announced after launch. Subsequent activity consisted of a Japanese localization update and an Xbox console port in August 2023, both of which are platform/localization work rather than new story or gameplay content. The sole DLC listed is a Supporter Pack (cosmetic/funding content) that released on launch day. No further content has been announced since August 2023, and the developer has not indicated any additional updates are planned. The Enhanced Edition branding, combined with the explicit "final edition" language used in the January 2023 announcement, marks this as a completed, definitively packaged release.

About this game
