Thunder Ray launched on September 14, 2023 as a retro arcade boxing game. Shortly after launch, the developer added a Survival Mode and DualSense controller support (October 27, 2023), and released a paid "Origin" DLC on February 22, 2024 — the last piece of content added to the game. Both DLC items (the soundtrack and the Origin pack) are fully released with nothing remaining unreleased.
The most recent news post from September 11, 2025 is not a Thunder Ray update — it announces an entirely separate game (Baki Hanma: Blood Arena) developed by the same studio. This suggests Purple Tree S R L has moved on to a new project rather than continuing to develop Thunder Ray.
