Evaluation

Timber Rush launched on March 17, 2026 as a solo-developed incremental roguelite priced at $4.99. The developer (Josh at Allerton Apps) has maintained an active post-launch update cadence. After launch, several hotfixes addressed critical stability issues (notably a memory leak patched on March 18, 2026). Update 1.1.0 followed on March 21, 2026 with quality-of-life improvements including a progress reset option. On May 16, 2026, Update 1.1.2 shipped more bug fixes alongside an announcement of a new game called Fellwood — a separate project, not a Timber Rush expansion. Most recently, on September 9, 2026, the developer shipped a substantial endgame-focused update introducing a prestige system, banishes (a heavily requested feature allowing players to remove unwanted upgrades from a run), and significant refactoring to allow much larger numbers throughout the game. The developer framed this as giving players "another reason to come back and see just how absurd the numbers can get." Importantly, the "Fellwood" reference in the previous evaluation was to a different, separate game the developer announced — it was not an announced content addition for Timber Rush. No specific future Timber Rush content has been formally announced, but the developer continues to ship meaningful updates and has made no statement that development is winding down.
Evidence
Major endgame update shipped adding a prestige system, banishes mechanic, and significantly expanded number scaling — framed as giving returning players reason to push the game further.
