Evaluation
Time Commando is a re-release of a classic 1996 DOS game, brought to Steam by the small studio [2.21] on October 9, 2021. The store description makes clear this is a preservation port running via DOSBox — it describes the original game's content (9 worlds, various weapons, puzzle elements) with no mention of new content, updates, or additions planned beyond the original experience.
Since launch, there has been only a minor documentation fix (a tweak to the macOS manual file, also on October 9, 2021). The developer's only other news post, from September 12, 2025, is entirely about a different, unrelated game the studio is developing — *S.Y.N.C. – One Mecha, Two Pilots*. There are no announcements, patches, roadmaps, or communications of any kind related to Time Commando itself after its launch day.
This game shipped as a complete, finished product — it is a straight port of a 1996 title with no post-launch content cycle and no indication that any is planned. The game is done.
Evidence
Time Commando launched on Steam on October 9, 2021 as a port of the original 1996 game.
The developer's only post since launch day is about an entirely different game (S.Y.N.C. – One Mecha, Two Pilots), with no reference to Time Commando. No further development on this title is indicated.
