Tinyfolks

Tinyfolks launched on June 1, 2022 and has received four major content updates over its lifetime: the Monarch Update (v1.1, August 29, 2022), the Circus Update (v1.2, March 9, 2023), Baby Mode (v1.3, August 27, 2023), and the Boss Rush Challenge Mode (v1.4, February 10, 2025). The developer, Pierre Vandermaesen, is a solo indie dev who has been candid about balancing Tinyfolks updates with other projects, including a new game called Rootown and the smaller title Orb Tower. In the February 10, 2025 update post, the developer explained that Tinyfolks is now a roughly three-year-old project that is no longer his highest priority, and that he finds it "hard to go back on a 3 years+ old project when you have other fun things to work on." He made no announcements of further content for Tinyfolks, and framed the v1.4 update as a return after a long absence rather than the start of a new development cycle. No roadmap, upcoming DLC, or future content promises were made for the game. The only DLC listed is the soundtrack, which released in August 2022. Given the developer's candid statement that Tinyfolks is no longer a primary focus, the absence of any announced future content, and the pattern of updates becoming increasingly infrequent (the gap between v1.3 and v1.4 was approximately 17 months), the game is best understood as a complete product. The February 10, 2025 update appears to be a final goodwill release rather than the resumption of an ongoing content cycle.
