Total War: SHOGUN 2 launched on March 15, 2011 and received a substantial post-launch DLC run through 2012. All eight DLC packs have been released, with the final one — the Otomo Clan Pack — shipping on November 30, 2012. No DLC has been listed as unreleased, and the developer has made no announcements of additional content for SHOGUN 2 at any point since then.
The most recent developer communication touching SHOGUN 2 directly was a technical patch on May 24, 2023 that improved performance on modern CPUs — a maintenance update with no content implications. The December 2025 Total War 25th Anniversary showcase announced Total War: MEDIEVAL III as a new entry in the franchise, but this is entirely unrelated to SHOGUN 2's own content lifecycle. No new content for SHOGUN 2 was teased or announced at any point.
With all DLC released, no outstanding commitments, and over 13 years since launch with no post-2012 content additions, SHOGUN 2 is a complete game. Anyone waiting for all content to be available can consider the game fully released as of November 30, 2012.
