Evaluation

Tower Lab entered Steam Early Access on September 7, 2026 — just three days before this assessment. The developer (a two-person team, Devon and Xueer) has been openly building toward this launch since at least October 2025, running community playtests and a public demo throughout early-to-mid 2026. The Early Access launch post describes the current build as a starting point, and the developer published a roadmap alongside the release date announcement on August 24, 2026, explicitly outlining content planned beyond what shipped at launch — including additional regions, towers, machines, and other features. This is an active, communicative team: they shipped a patch (0.1.0.1) just two days after launch addressing gameplay, balance, and bug fixes, and they had maintained a steady stream of updates throughout the pre-launch demo period. The game is squarely in an unfinished state by the developer's own design and communication — Early Access with a published roadmap of things still to come.

About this game

Tower Lab is an experimental sandbox game about using physics as a weapon to push robots off the map.

Pure physics, enemies have no health

There are no damage numbers. Towers push, pull, bounce, grow, shrink, and fling enemies off the map.

Build without restriction

Place towers in any open space. Move them freely. Experiment with different setups.

Combine Towers

Towers combine and affect each other. Their synergies emerge from physical interactions.

Improve your run

Buy items, refresh the shop, remove cards, and upgrade your setup throughout a roguelite campaign.

Upgrade towers

Change mass, control risk and reward

Shrink robots to make them easier to push, or risk growing them to gain increased rewards.

Grow projectiles to make them more powerful.

Sandbox and Workshop

Build and decorate levels, then share them on Steam Workshop. In sandbox mode, you can use everything.
