Tropico 6 launched on March 29, 2019 and received a steady run of paid DLC expansions over six years: The Llama of Wall Street (December 6, 2019), Lobbyistico (July 9, 2020), Caribbean Skies (December 16, 2020), Festival (August 26, 2021), New Frontiers (December 1, 2022), Going Viral (October 12, 2023), Tropican Shores (June 18, 2024), and finally Return to Nature (March 6, 2025). Alongside that final DLC, the developer shipped Update 23 — Eternamente Verde, a free feature patch adding community-requested customization options and extensive bug fixes.
All eleven DLC items in the store listing are released, with no unreleased entries. Since March 2025, the developer has made no further announcements about Tropico 6 content. Instead, every official post on the Tropico 6 Steam page since August 2025 has been devoted to Tropico 7: its announcement at Gamescom (August 20, 2025), the first gameplay teaser and Dev-Log #1 (April 17–20, 2026), a closed beta (March 2026), two more dev-logs in August 2026, and a full gameplay trailer on August 26, 2026 confirming Tropico 7's release date of January 28, 2027. The studio's focus has fully transitioned to the sequel, and no Tropico 6 content of any kind has been teased or announced. Return to Nature on March 6, 2025 marks the end of Tropico 6's content lifecycle.
