Truxton is a faithful PC re-release of the classic 1988 Toaplan arcade shooter, published by Bitwave Games as part of their Toaplan Arcade Shoot 'Em Up Collection. It launched on February 14, 2023, and received a series of quality-of-life patches through August 2023 — the last of which (Patch 7, released August 24, 2023) added Mirror Mode alongside the launch of Vol. 2 of the collection. No further updates to Truxton itself have been posted since that date.
The developer's news activity since then has been focused entirely on other titles: Vol. 3 and Vol. 4 of the Toaplan collection, a separate game called OMEGA 6 The Triangle Stars, and an upcoming new game called Truxton Extreme (announced April 1, 2026, with a July 30, 2026 release date). Truxton Extreme is a brand-new sequel game with its own Steam store page — it is not an update or expansion to this game.
Truxton itself is a complete, standalone emulated re-release of a finished arcade game. There are no unreleased DLC items, no announced future content for this specific title, and the developer has shifted focus to new projects. The game shipped as a complete package and received its final feature update on August 24, 2023.
