Under Contract entered Steam Early Access on May 18, 2023 as a deliberately unfinished game that the developer has been building out in chapters. The game has received consistent major content updates since launch: the Marketing Department (Department 1) was completed in May 2023, the first half of the Finance Department (Department 2) arrived in May 2024, local versus multiplayer was added in October 2024, and — as of today, August 18, 2026 — a new update (v0.6.1, "Honey Pot") has shipped adding three new Finance Department coworkers (Julia, Sandra, and Lizzy) with full story content, 15 new arcade unlocks, and seven new gameplay hazards.
The developer's August 18, 2026 post is candid about the path ahead: the Finance Department still needs a final boss fight with Sinder, and after that the Human Resources department and a Boardroom confrontation with Dominique remain before the game reaches its conclusion. The developer also acknowledged that attention had been split with the studio's other game (Sapphire Safari), causing a longer gap than intended between updates, but confirmed they are now "building towards the conclusion."
This update resolves the development uncertainty flagged in the previous assessment. The developer is actively shipping content and has clearly described what remains to complete the game.

Similar to Magical Drop and Money Puzzle Exchanger, Under Contract will focus on modernizing the trimmings by delivering an extensive campaign, expansive puzzle variety, dimension sprawling narrative, and all the extra modes you could ever want.
Meet Richard, your average college dropout with only a few dollars to his name. Desperate for a job doing *whatever* He lands an interview at the office of Souverain Industries VLLC. Unlucky for him they seem to be hiring just about anyone with a soul! From the moment his name was etched onto that dotted line his world shrank to the size of a four-walled cubicle. Forced to navigate a stressful dead-end job by day and a demonic hellscape by night, he is ‘conmagically’ obligated to work even as he sleeps. Talk about a dream job.
The dreamscape offers Richard a chance at salvation. By navigating skillfully around the demonic gems that control his body’s every sleeping moment, he breaks his chains and begins climbing up the ranks in order to free himself from damnation!
