Underdog Detective launched on April 27, 2022, with chapters 1–5 as the base game (priced at ¥19). On May 5, 2022, the developer released the DLC covering chapters 6–17, completing the full story. The developer's pre-launch announcement on April 27, 2022 stated that the DLC would cover chapters 6–17 and was priced at ¥49 — this was clearly the planned conclusion to the game's content all along. The DLC shipped on schedule just over a week after launch. All post-launch developer communications consist of bug fix patches and developer commentary videos from May 2022, with no announcements of additional chapters, new DLC, or ongoing content plans. There have been no developer posts of any kind since May 18, 2022. The game's store listing shows a single DLC, which has been released. The game appears to have been designed and shipped as a complete, episodic interactive film — the base game and its one DLC together constitute the full intended experience. No further content has been announced or released since May 2022.
