Evaluation

Underworld Idle launched into full release on February 2, 2023, graduating from an extended Early Access period. The developer had been steadily building out the game across multiple major updates from 2021 through late 2022, adding factions (robots, undead), worlds (Dark World, Rusty World, Undead World, Water/Fire Worlds), and systems like the Arena and prestige mechanics. The January 30, 2023 pre-launch note explicitly stated that the 1.0 release meant "the basic structure of the game is ready," and the Rusty World update (December 25, 2022) was described as the game's "final world," with its completion framed as the game's finale. Following the February 2, 2023 launch, the only developer communication was an August 1, 2023 post announcing a brand-new, separate game called "Epic Auto Towers" — indicating the developer had moved on to a new project. There have been no posts announcing new content, expansions, or updates for Underworld Idle since launch, and no unreleased DLC exists in the store listing. The sole DLC (Extra Tokens, a supporter pack) was released even before the game's 1.0 launch. The last developer communication of any kind specific to Underworld Idle dates to February 2, 2023, now well over three years ago. The evidence consistently points to this being a complete, finished game that launched with all planned content in place.
Evidence
Version 1.0 launch post — game exits Early Access. Only minor fixes included, consistent with a stability-focused final release.

About this game

Underworld Idle is an idle game about underworld management.

The basic mechanics: higher-order units create lower-order units. If you've played games like Swarm Simulator or Antimatter Dimensions, you should be familiar with these mechanics. However, in Underworld Idle I present my own take on these mechanics.

Game Features

  • Factions (demons, undead, utopians, and blackseekers). Each faction is responsible for producing its own resource.
  • Mechanics of creating units. For example, higher demons create lower demons, and so on. The same about units of undead, drowners and warlocks.
  • Infinite progression. Start with a small number of resources and expand into a long list of units and huge numbers.
  • Infernal Contracts - Prestige Mechanics.
  • A variety of locations: lab with energy crystals, junkyard, library with grimoire (containing dark spells).
