Evaluation

Unruly Heroes launched on January 23, 2019 and received one major free content update — the Challenge Update on May 31, 2019 — which added new difficulty modes, rankings, character skins, and a photo mode. Following that, the developer issued a series of bug fix and feature patches through June 2020. The only DLC ever released was a soundtrack pack on March 23, 2020, and no other DLC has been listed or announced. On October 31, 2020, Magic Design Studios posted a Halloween update announcing they had moved on to a new project, describing it as still in pre-production. This was the last official communication from the developer on this game's Steam page, and it clearly signals that the team's focus had shifted away from Unruly Heroes. No further content, patches, roadmaps, or announcements for Unruly Heroes have appeared since then. The game shipped as a complete, self-contained experience inspired by Journey to the West. Its post-launch update activity concluded with the Challenge Update in May 2019, with only maintenance patches thereafter. There are no unreleased DLC items, no outstanding commitments, and the developer has explicitly moved on to a new project. Unruly Heroes is a finished product.
