Evaluation
Vaporum: Lockdown launched on September 15, 2020 and received several post-launch patches through October 2020, covering bug fixes, Windows 7 compatibility, and Mac/Linux support. A Nintendo Switch port followed on March 22, 2021.
On April 22, 2021, the developer published a detailed studio update explicitly titled "The Age of Vaporum is Over (for now at least)." In it, Fatbot Games stated that the dungeon crawler genre was too financially niche to sustain continued development, and that the studio had already pivoted to a new, different project. They described Vaporum: Lockdown as their completed second game and explained they were shifting full production resources to the new title — while still finishing console ports (PS4, Xbox). This post makes clear that no further content was planned for Lockdown beyond completing the remaining platform ports.
By 2024, Fatbot Games announced and released a demo for their new game, GRAVELORD, confirming the studio has fully moved on. There are no DLC listings, roadmaps, or any announced content for Vaporum: Lockdown. The game shipped as a complete, self-contained experience, and the developer has confirmed that the Vaporum era is finished.
