Evaluation

Vecter is a free-to-play endless runner/shooter that launched in October 2020. It has had a winding development history under a single solo developer who has been candid throughout about the game's direction — including a 2022 announcement that he was moving on to a sequel, a return in early 2023 to overhaul the game with version 1.3, and then a quiet period before a major comeback in April 2025 with version 1.4. The most recent wave of updates came in late 2025 and early 2026: version 1.5 (December 18, 2025) was described as "the biggest update Vecter has ever received," adding YouTube integration, procedurally bending roads, new menus, donation badges, and a full input system rewrite. Version 1.5.1 (January 1, 2026) followed with macOS YouTube support, playlist and livestream functionality, and additional bug fixes. Two small hotfix patches followed in January 2026 to address input binding and YouTube compatibility issues on Windows. At the conclusion of both the 1.5 and 1.5.1 update posts, the developer explicitly stated he doesn't know what comes next — "Maybe nothing. Maybe something" — and described the game as being "in a good spot." There are no announced future updates, no unreleased DLC, no roadmap, and no outstanding commitments. The sole DLC is a donation pack that has been released since January 2020. The developer has a history of returning to the game after quiet periods, but there are no current signals pointing to planned content. The game appears to have reached a natural resting point as of January 27, 2026 (the date of the last hotfix), with the developer satisfied with its current state and no further work announced.

About this game

Vecter is a fast-paced runner and shooter where your goal is to survive by the skin of your teeth and raise hell in your path. You get in your ship, you push the throttle on max, and then try to survive for as long as possible by annihilating anything that gets in your way. Don't blink.

Compete Daily

Every day there's a fresh leaderboard. Climb to the top and your name stays there forever. Not for a week. Not for a month. Forever. So if you're good, people will know.

Go Global

There's also global Steam leaderboards if daily competition isn't enough for you. Oh, and you'll see billboards in-game showing where top players died. It's a nice reminder that even the best eventually smack into something.

Multiple Modes

TopDog, Hardcore, Speed Demon, Casual, or Training. Pick your poison. You can also share custom seeds with friends so you're racing the exact same track. No excuses.

Make It Yours

Full RGB color customization, custom music support (drop your own MP3s, FLACs, or OGGs into a folder), and retro CRT effects if you're into that sort of thing. Your ship, your colors, your soundtrack.

YouTube Integration

Yeah, you can play YouTube videos right in the game. Use them as background music, or just have something playing while you dodge windmills at 10,000 km/h. It's your call.

30+ Achievements

From "first crash" (you'll get this one fast) to "escape velocity at 40,270 km/h" to "travel to the moon and back." Some are easy, some are... not.

I'm a solo developer building this out of passion. Updates may be slow, but they happen when they happen. Thanks for playing.
