Evaluation

VMX launched into Early Access on March 26, 2026 as a VR multiplayer action sports game built by a two-person development team. Since launch, the developer has maintained a consistent stream of updates across all categories. Major content milestones include the El Torro Stadium megaramp map (April 17, 2026) and the large 0.3.0 update (July 31, 2026), which extended all existing maps with new areas, added race courses, collectibles, and a new "hardline" physics mode. Between these, several feature patches shipped improvements to trick mechanics, manuals, leaning, audio, spawning, and moderation tools. On April 27, 2026, the developer published a 2026 roadmap laying out planned content for the remainder of the year. The July 4, 2026 update explicitly noted that grinding and full scoring integration were not completed on schedule and would be revisited in future updates. The July 31, 2026 update also announced that VMX is coming to the Meta Store on October 2, 2026, with crossplay between Steam and Meta described as a major upcoming milestone for growing the player base. Most recently, on September 23, 2026, the developer published a "VMX Session #1" post describing behind-the-scenes work on community infrastructure — including a Discord rebuild, new community team members, and a refreshed store presence — and closed with "we've got plenty more to show you," confirming that active development continues. This is the most recent communication from the developer and clearly signals ongoing work rather than a wind-down. The game remains in Early Access with announced content still outstanding and the developer actively communicating about what is coming next.

About this game

  • VMX puts the ride in your hands with advanced VR controls and a custom physics system built for precise, true-to-life handling. Pull off tricks entirely through physical gestures, find your line, dial in your technique, and land it your way.

  • Make your ride your own with VMX's realistic spray-painting system. Grab a spray can, pick your color, and start painting. Blend colors, create smooth gradients, experiment with patterns, and build a setup that's completely yours.

  • Earn points as you play and spend them on a growing collection of gear and clothing, including helmets, goggles, full-face helmets, snapbacks, beanies, and more.

  • Want a smoother ride? Comfort Mode offers additional options designed to reduce motion discomfort while keeping you in control. Spend more time exploring, practicing tricks, and finding your flow at your own pace.

  • Everything's better with a crew. Jump into multiplayer to ride with friends, explore maps, session your favorite spots, practice tricks together, or go head-to-head in competitive challenges.

  • Whether you're chasing the best score or just hanging out and riding, there's always another line to
