VR Secretary: Ailey Edition remains in Early Access and is still available for purchase. A game update adding the Business Trip stage, Photo Mode and a Dress Room shipped alongside the first paid DLC on June 5, 2026. In that post the developer said about two more story stages, one of them postponed due to technical issues, are needed before the originally planned story concludes. On July 25, 2026, the developer announced work on giving the character Ailey a conversational AI system, including reactions to touch, posing on request, outfit changes and shared activities, and targeted delivery before the end of summer 2026. The most recent developer post, dated August 7, 2026, added new swimsuits and outfits to the existing DLC and confirmed that the Chat Mode update comes after that. The developer has said the system for combining separate tops and bottoms is still being finished, that further outfits will be added to the existing DLC, and that the main story will continue to receive free updates. Additional shared-activity environments depend on how development progresses. The developer has also said the ongoing cost of running the AI service is still being worked out. The Chat Mode update had not been released as of October 8, 2026, so the summer target has passed without a release.
