Wanted Raccoon has been in Early Access since March 19, 2021 and remains explicitly unfinished. MAD Sprouts has kept up a steady stream of updates throughout the game's life. The development history shows major content milestones roughly every 6-12 months: multiplayer launched in May 2023, received a significant expansion in December 2023, a brand-new large open-world location was introduced in Experimental Mode in September 2025, and two further major updates shipped in June 2026 (adding a new Observatory location and expanded multiplayer features) and August 13, 2026 (city residents, NPC behavior overhaul, car traffic, and multiplayer synchronization improvements).
The developer has clearly communicated ongoing plans. The September 2025 post announced that five new playable characters (Rat, Skunk, Puppy, Cat, and Bear) would be added gradually to the new game world. The June 2026 update explicitly stated that future updates will bring more city variety, additional traffic, and base-building in multiplayer. The August 2026 update itself noted the Observatory location will later support base-building as an alternative to the junkyard. There is no 1.0 release date announced and no indication development is winding down — quite the opposite, with the two most recent major updates arriving just weeks and months ago.

Wanted Raccoon is a story about a raccoon that lived a peaceful life in the forest until one day people invaded it. They cut down the trees and built their own houses instead. Animals` families were taken away from them and all those who couldn`t hide were placed in animal shelters. Our Raccoon met the same fate. Help the raccoon get free, find his family, and find a new home. It`s time to fight people back!
Raccoon`s enemies - hunters, cops, and other residents of Raccoon City also have their own story and behavior.
The game is full of various locations: forest, construction site, animal shelter, different houses, car dump, car repair shop, church, stores, etc. Each of them contains multiple tasks and many interactions with the outside world.
Completing tasks will allow you to increase the level of the raccoon, master skills, improve your base, get various items necessary for crafting and buying devices, develop a shelter for other animals, as well as to find new friends.
RIDE A SKATEBOARD
You can easily overcome long distances of Raccoon City on a skateboard! Explore the game world and run from the cops and other enemies.

Steal resources, alone or together with other animals, that will help you in achieving your goals and confronting people.
