Speed Freeks launched at version 1.0 on May 22, 2025, transitioning out of Early Access under a new publisher (Wired Productions) with a revised business model — moving from free-to-play to a low-priced premium game. Since launch, the developer Caged Element has maintained a very active update cadence. Major content has arrived at roughly 1-2 month intervals: a significant hit-registration overhaul in June 2025, the new Deffkopta flying vehicle in October 2025, the Creation Workshop (level editor, custom map browser, Kustom Rally mode, and a new WAAAGH! Path) in November 2025, and the console launch with crossplay and a new WAAAGH! Path featuring Burna Boyz and vehicle kits in May 2026. That console release also brought Epic Games Store crossplay support in a June 2026 patch. The developer is actively investigating connection and desync issues as of June 12, 2026, indicating continued hands-on support. No specific future content has been formally announced at this time, but the developer has consistently shipped major additions across the past year with no indication that development is winding down. The pace of updates, the recent platform expansion, and continued active patching all point to a game that is still receiving substantial ongoing development.
