Warhammer: Vermintide 2

Warhammer: Vermintide 2 launched in March 2018 and has received a long, sustained stream of post-launch content from developer Fatshark. Over the past two years alone, major additions include the Versus PvP mode (November 2024), a free new map called The Well of Dreams (May 2025), and the free Return to the Reik map celebrating 10 years of the Tide franchise (November 2025). The October 2025 anniversary post outlined a roadmap covering content through December 2025, all of which has shipped. On November 27, 2025, Fatshark explicitly stated: "Return to the Reik is the latest, but not the last mission coming to Vermintide 2. We can't wait to show you what lies next in the adventure of our Heroes!" This is a clear developer statement that further content is planned, even without naming specific upcoming releases. Developer activity has continued well into 2026. A major weapon balance patch (6.11.0) shipped on May 19, 2026, followed by hotfixes on June 2, 2026. Most recently, the recurring Feast of Grimnir seasonal event returned with Patch 6.12.0 on August 25, 2026 — just one day before this assessment — confirming Fatshark is still actively updating the game. All 21 DLC entries on the store are marked as released, and no new DLC is currently listed. However, given the active patching cadence, the developer's explicit statement that more missions are coming, and the history of recurring seasonal events, this game is clearly still in an active update cycle.
