Waves 2: Notorious

Waves 2: Notorious has been in Early Access since December 16, 2015 and remains in that state today. The developer, a solo developer at Squid In A Box, was actively updating the game through mid-2021, shipping three major seasonal content updates and numerous feature patches and bug fixes across that period. In August 2020, the developer disclosed they had taken a part-time job to pay bills but committed to continuing development, estimating the game would be finished "in about another year at the earliest" from that point — suggesting a 1.0 release sometime around late 2021 or 2022. The last update of any kind was the Uranium Season Update on June 1, 2021, which added achievements, item balance changes, and boss fight improvements. Since that date — now nearly five years ago — there have been no posts, patches, announcements, or communications from the developer through any official channel. The game has never reached its 1.0 release, and the promised completion timeline has passed without any update or explanation. Given the extended and unexplained silence from a solo developer who previously acknowledged financial hardship, it is unclear whether development is still ongoing.
