Weyrdlets launched on July 23, 2024 and has been under sustained, active development ever since. The game underwent a major transformation on March 18, 2026, relaunching as Weyrdlets 2.0 and transitioning from a free-to-play model to a paid premium game — a change the developer explicitly framed as enabling long-term continued development. The developer has shipped a consistent stream of major updates and content drops across the game's life: the Fishing & Friends update (August 13, 2025) introduced an entirely new area (Cozy Cove), fishing, third-person pet mode, and multiplayer; the Bloom & Zoom update (December 5, 2025) added Sports Day, the Worble mode, and Orchard farming; and the Weyrdlets 2.0 launch (March 18, 2026) brought multiplayer Worble, photo mode, desktop roaming, and expanded language support. Most recently, on July 22, 2026 — just four weeks ago — the developer shipped three new DLC packs simultaneously: the Wasabi DLC (a new avian pet), Mellow Meadows (a new habitat), and the Magical Treasures Collection (fantasy-themed decorations and accessories). In November 2025, the developer stated they are "still cooking up more things," and in March 2026, when announcing the premium transition, they explicitly named "new DLCs, events, and special discounts" as part of what's coming.
