Wheelchair Wizards

Wheelchair Wizards launched as a free-to-play party game on July 30, 2025. Just days after launch, on August 3, 2025, the developer noted they hadn't originally planned to support the game post-launch but were inspired by community reception to keep going — explicitly stating "more content is already in the works." They have followed through consistently. The game has received three major content updates since launch: the Desert Update on August 8, 2025 (new map, two new elements, sound effects); version 2.0 on April 6, 2026 (two new elements, 8-player free-for-all, full player customization overhaul, and a Steam inventory cosmetic system with tradable items); and the Workshop Update 2.1 on July 2, 2026 (a full level editor with Steam Workshop support, spectator mode, and additional polish). Numerous smaller feature patches and bug fixes round out a busy update history. The most recent major update shipped on July 2, 2026 — just 48 days before today's assessment date. The pattern of major releases every 3-6 months is well established across multiple updates. No announcement of development concluding has been made, and the studio remains actively engaged with the community through Discord and regular patches.
