Evaluation

Will You Snail? launched on March 9, 2022 and has received three major free content updates since then: the "Will You Snail? Infinite" level editor on September 6, 2023; "Slices of Infinity" (a community-made mini-campaign alongside Level Editor 2.0) on September 21, 2024; and "Slices of Infinity 2" (a two-chapter expansion) on June 1, 2025. These three releases establish a pattern of roughly 9–12 months between major updates. As of today, October 8, 2026, it has been approximately 16 months since the last major release on June 1, 2025. That places the current gap beyond the upper end of the established 9–12 month cadence window, and past the 6-month general silence ceiling as well. However, the developer has not made any statement indicating that development is complete or that no further content is planned — nor have they gone entirely silent. The store description actively markets the level editor and "infinite community-made content" as ongoing selling points, reflecting a community-driven model that remains live and functional. There are no unreleased DLC listings, no announced upcoming content, and no developer statement declaring the game finished. The cadence analysis alone points toward the update window having lapsed, but the absence of any "we're done" communication from the developer, combined with the game's community content infrastructure still being actively promoted, means the picture is ambiguous rather than clearly concluded. The game continues to be supported as a platform for community creation even if the next developer-authored content release has not yet been announced. Given the cadence has now clearly elapsed without a follow-up release or announcement, confidence is reduced — the sustained update pattern that drove the previous assessment is now under strain, but the developer has not signaled an end to development.

About this game

A unique platformer where an evil AI predicts your movement. Dodge AI-spawned traps, solve optional puzzles and uncover the dark secrets of the simulation. Now with a level editor and infinite community-made content!

A lot of levels in Will You Snail are relatively empty by default. The challenge comes from the interactions with the evil AI. You will jump, run, dodge and die. This game is precise, fast-paced and challenging. (Stay cool, you can change the difficulty at any time.)

The evil AI Squid tries to predict your movement a few seconds ahead of time and uses that information in an attempt to stop you from reaching the end of the level. Will you win that intellectual battle, or will Squid find yet another reason to make fun of you?

Take a break from the action and challenge yourself with a variety of puzzles, ranging from easy to quite difficult. All puzzles are completely optional and can be skipped, allowing you to fully customize your gaming experience.

Find secrets, collect clues and try to piece together where you are and what happened. Will You Snail tells a rather crazy story about artificial intelligence, simulation theory, and the future of humanity.

Now with a level editor with Steam Workshop support! Unleash your imagination and dive into a world of endless possibilities. Build and play custom-made levels, share your creativity, watch others suffer, and take on new challenges yourself.

Infinite creativity. Infinite nonsense. Infinite pain. Infinite content.

I still feel confident recommending this game to you. It is pretty customizable, and you can focus on the things you like most. Puzzles can be skipped; the difficulty can be adjusted; there is an exploration mode that instantly unlocks all levels if you just want to explore, etc. You'll have a pretty good time.

If you like 3-4 points:
Hmmm. Unfortunately, I'm not entirely sure you'll like my game. Maybe wait for a good discount if you really want to try it out.

If you like 0-2 points:
Sorry, this game is not for you.

I want to thank you all so much for your support with this project, especially my YouTube community, which helped a ton with playtesting, translations, and keeping me motivated. This is the first commercial game I'm releasing on my own, so your support means the world to me. Thank you for making this game possible!
