Wizards entered Steam Early Access on January 15, 2021 as a free-to-play artillery tactics game. Since launch, the developer (Tyler) shipped a consistent series of updates: the Nature and Storm spellbooks in February and March 2021, a major Nature rework in July 2021, Full Book Bonuses and Steam Achievements in September 2021, two new map types (Underdark and Overlight) in March 2022, matchmaking improvements and spell reworks in November 2022, and a new map type patch in July 2023. That July 15, 2023 patch was the last official communication from the developer. The game is still in Early Access and has never announced a 1.0 release date or a content completion milestone. However, as of June 25, 2026, the developer has been silent for nearly three years — well beyond the established update cadence of roughly every 2–7 months. No roadmap, studio announcement, or explanation for the silence has been posted. This extended quiet period, combined with the game still being listed under Early Access without any stated completion plan, raises genuine uncertainty about whether development is continuing.
