Word Game (《文字遊戲》) launched on Steam on January 21, 2022 as a complete narrative puzzle RPG. It received a soundtrack DLC on launch day and an official art book DLC on August 5, 2022 — both are released. There are no unreleased DLC items on the store.
Developer Team9's subsequent activity has been focused entirely on follow-up projects in the series rather than new content for this game. In February 2025, they announced a Japanese-language version of Word Game coming to Steam and Nintendo Switch. In March 2025, they announced a full sequel, 《文字遊戲世界》 (Word Game World), as a separate Steam product. In August 2025, the Nintendo Switch version of the original game launched. In September 2025, a playable demo for Word Game World went live. In March 2026, Team9 confirmed Word Game World would release on March 16, 2026 — as a new, standalone game.
None of these activities represent new content being added to this original Steam release. The base game shipped as a complete, self-contained story, and all announced follow-up work (the Japanese version, the sequel) is packaged as separate products. The last direct update to this game was a bug-fix patch in February 2022. The art book DLC released in August 2022 is the most recent addition to this game's content, and no further content has been announced for it.
