Worship entered Steam Early Access on July 16, 2025, with Chasing Rats Games being transparent from the start that the game would continue to grow before reaching its full release. Since then, the developer has shipped a steady stream of content: the "Shepherd of Horrors" update on August 8, 2025, the "Awakening of Kessessa" update on October 27, 2025 (adding a third god, new buildings, and a reworked save system), a Quality of Life update on March 3, 2026, and numerous hotfixes throughout. On September 16, 2026 — today — the developer published the most significant update yet: a confirmed 1.0 release date of November 4, 2026, accompanied by a final Early Access content patch called "The End is Nigh." This patch explicitly prepares the game for full launch while holding back the bulk of new content for the 1.0 release itself. The developer has been open about what's coming at 1.0: the final area (Cabal Marshlands), a climactic final boss encounter (Mortals' Last Stand), an eldritch prophecies meta-progression system, god aspects (new playstyle variants for existing gods), cosmetic unlocks, new encounters, and more. The developer also teased locked features directly within this update — including god aspects and eldritch prophecy menus — as previews of what arrives at 1.0. Post-launch support was also addressed: the developer stated that additional content updates are something the team "really wants to do," but cannot make firm promises — it will depend on how the 1.0 launch performs. The game remains in Early Access and is not yet complete; the 1.0 release is still roughly seven weeks away from today's date.

About this game

Don the robes of a mad cultist who pledges his faith to an eldritch god in exchange for untold powers. Grow your cult base and build monuments to receive unholy blessings and learn new rituals. Embrace your dark side as your cult gradually corrupts the Mortal Realm to plan the arrival of your otherworldly deity.

Command your Flock

To obey the whispers of the Old Ones, you will need an army. Build it by spreading the gospel and converting the godless to your cause. Command your followers through battles and various occult bidding in this pikmin-like mix of real-time strategy, exploration and puzzle solving. Don’t let trivial things like empathy stop you from leading them to certain death.

Draw Blood Rituals

Cast otherworldly spells by drawing blood symbols on the ground. Summon deadly horrors, unleash ghastly projectiles and make toxic frogs rain on your enemies. Your blood is also your ink, but don’t worry too much about it, you are surrounded by followers eager to spill theirs in your place.

Drawing with blood is also key for interacting with various puzzles, shrines and occult ruins you’ll stumble upon during your unholy journey.

End a Living World

Explore a visually unique dark-fantasy living world where four distinct factions wage war. Prepare yourself to face inquisitors of The Last Church, Untamed Akka warriors, witches from the Coven and aberrations from the Unseen Depths. Filled with dark humour and merciless realisations, a grim but equally cute world is waiting for you to end it.
