Evaluation
Yohjo Simulator launched on November 17, 2015 as a free sandbox title. Shortly after launch, it was temporarily pulled from Steam due to inappropriate content discovered post-release. The publisher (Sekai Project) issued a formal apology on December 1, 2015, explaining the removal and committing to review and clean up the game before relisting it. The game was subsequently relisted and remains purchasable today.
On March 9, 2016, the publisher posted an ambitious update roadmap covering Mid-April through the opening of 2017, outlining five major content updates with new costumes, maps, and gameplay modes. However, there is no evidence in the available developer communications — no news posts, no DLC listings, no store description updates — that any of these planned updates were ever delivered. The store description still carries the generic line "Updates for the game will come every so often," but no concrete post-launch content has been confirmed as shipped.
The last developer communication of any kind dates to March 9, 2016 — over ten years ago as of June 2026. The announced 2016 update roadmap went entirely unfulfilled based on available evidence, and the developer has been completely silent since. Given this extended silence and the absence of any follow-through on the 2016 roadmap, the promised content was never delivered, and the game is best treated as a finished product in its current state — a simple sandbox experience that launched as-is.
