Zeepkist has been in Early Access since January 28, 2021, and continues to be actively developed by solo developer Yannic at Steelpan Interactive. The game just received its Version 18 "Logic 2.0" update on August 17, 2026 — a major overhaul introducing a fully node-based logic system for the level editor, along with new adventure levels, cosmetics, blocks, and decorative pieces. The developer described this as "one of the most ambitious Zeepkist updates yet," noting it took over a year of work. Crucially, the developer explicitly stated in the Version 18 post that more updates are coming: "So there will absolutely be more Zeepkist updates in the future, likely far less ambitious than this one, but they will come for sure!" The developer also mentioned having "plans/ideas for a couple of themed content updates already," confirming that development is not winding down despite wanting to spend some time on other projects as well. The update history shows a consistent pattern of major releases: Version 17 (Skybox Update) shipped April 28, 2025, followed by a steady stream of patches through early 2026, and now Version 18 in August 2026. In the Zeepkist level editor, you get access to the same tools the developer uses to create official tracks!
