103 launched on December 21, 2018 as a self-contained first-person mystery adventure. At launch, the developer described the game as complete and committed to fixing any post-launch issues players encountered. The only DLC ever released is a soundtrack, also on December 21, 2018 — no additional story content or gameplay expansions have been announced or released.
In August 2025, the developer returned to push a substantial technical update, rebuilding the entire game in a newer engine version to address compatibility problems with modern Windows hardware and DirectX 12. While this shows the developer remains engaged, the post explicitly frames the effort as preserving the original experience: "I'd like to try and keep things as close to the original as possible." No new content is announced or hinted at — the update is purely a compatibility and quality-of-life overhaul.
The game launched as a finished product and has received no story expansions, gameplay DLC, or announced future content in nearly eight years. The 2025 patch confirms the developer still cares about maintaining the game's playability, but the content itself has been complete since launch.

- Play through 103 simply by looking at objects to piece the story together. The more that you observe the environment, the more you understand. Primary instructions and simple riddles are given through two picture frames which direct you to progress.
- 103 focuses on having a smaller, detailed environment that you can explore. Read messages, solve puzzles, view pictures and objects as well as experience events and encounter characters that all help you understand what happened.
