On August 30, 2020, the developer published an official statement confirming that development of 2084 has been permanently halted and will not resume. The post explains that the original concept evolved so dramatically that the team chose to start fresh with a new game — The Raid — set in the same universe, rather than continue building on 2084's foundation. The game remains on sale in Early Access, and the developer stated at the time that it would eventually be removed from sale once The Raid released. The Raid was targeting an early 2022 release window, but no subsequent updates have been posted to this page beyond a June 24, 2021 announcement about an unrelated Feardemic title. As of June 26, 2026, there is no indication that The Raid was ever released or that 2084 has been delisted. 2084 is effectively an abandoned Early Access game — it will never receive the updates originally promised, and the replacement project's status is also unknown.
