Evaluation
6 Seasons and a Game is a free-to-play multiplayer arena shooter built by a volunteer team that launched in January 2021. After a long quiet period, the team shipped a landmark update on November 1, 2025 (v2.1.19), in which the entire project was rebuilt from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5. That update introduced a new Zombie Mode, third-person gameplay, AI bots, improved networking via Epic Online Services, and groundwork for cross-platform play. The developers were candid that this is an early remaster build, describing Zombie Mode as a "playable proof of concept" and the overall release as "extremely early."
In the same November 1–10, 2025 window, the team followed up with three additional patches (v2.1.20, v2.1.25, v2.1.26), addressing AI behavior, map content, weapon balance, audio improvements, and bug fixes — a clear sign of active iterative development immediately after the major release.
Critically, the November 1, 2025 post explicitly states: "This is more of an announcement that we are still here and would love to start developing this game further. We are looking for people that can contribute to the project." The store description reinforces this ongoing posture, stating the team will "strive to improve this project" as long as there is community interest and volunteers.
As of today, October 1, 2026, the most recent developer communication on record is the November 10, 2025 patch (v2.1.26) — approximately 10.5 months ago. The game has no established regular cadence to compare against, given the long gap between 2021 and 2025. However, the nature of the November 2025 burst — describing the UE5 rebuild as extremely early, explicitly recruiting new contributors, and calling for further development — means the project was clearly not presented as complete at that point. The silence since November 10, 2025 is notable but not definitively alarming given the volunteer nature of the team; the developer's own words indicate this is a project where activity is tied to volunteer availability. No completion announcement has been made.
Evidence
Major v2.1.19 update announces full rebuild of the game in Unreal Engine 5, introduces Zombie Mode, third-person gameplay, bots, and cross-play groundwork. Developer explicitly states this is an announcement that they are 'still here' and want to develop the game further, and calls for new volunteers to join.
Detailed patch notes for v2.1.19 covering Zombie Mode overhaul, gameplay/balance changes, full engine migration to UE5, UI updates, and networking improvements.

In this game you'll find fast paced classic arena shooter gameplay, bright colors, tons of Easter eggs. and lots of meta references. The early access version of this game will feature a classic style 8v8 map of unique characters being challenged to a paintball match by their evil doppledeaners. The purpose of this project is for aspiring game developers to come together as a community to gain experience and to meet different people.
