8-Bit Hordes

8-Bit Hordes launched on August 12, 2016 and received a steady stream of feature patches and balance updates through 2017, followed by periodic maintenance and content additions in subsequent years. The most recent update to the game was a community patch on November 14, 2023, which delivered bug fixes, balance changes, and three new music tracks (including one new track for Hordes specifically). The developer's studio energy has since shifted toward 9-Bit Armies, their next entry in the series, which entered Early Access on February 26, 2024 and reached full release on October 16, 2024. There are no unreleased DLC items — the only DLC is the soundtrack, which released alongside the game on August 12, 2016. No future content for 8-Bit Hordes has been announced. A 2018 developer post noted that updates would become less frequent but would continue; however, the game has now gone over two and a half years since its last update (November 14, 2023), and the studio's focus has clearly moved to their newer title. The game appears to have reached the end of its content lifecycle as a complete, standalone product.
