A Fold Apart launched on April 16, 2020 as a complete, self-contained puzzle game with over 50 handcrafted paper-folding puzzles and a full narrative. Following launch, the developer released several quality-of-life and bug fix patches through August 2020. On February 11, 2021, Lightning Rod Games released one bonus chapter — a free, standalone addition featuring a new character (Princess Maggie Pupperpants), seven new puzzles, a new soundtrack, and a short story. This appears to be the final piece of content the developer added to the game. There have been no developer communications of any kind since February 2021, no unreleased DLC on the store, no roadmap or announcement of future content, and no sustained pattern of major content releases that would suggest more updates are expected. The game was clearly designed and delivered as a finished narrative experience, with the bonus chapter serving as a charming epilogue. The last developer communication was on February 11, 2021.
