Evaluation

A House Inside Me is a free-to-play psychological horror walking simulator that launched on March 30, 2026. Since release, Ctrl Horror has been actively updating the game at a steady pace. On April 3, 2026, they shipped a major update adding partial controller support, WASD movement, and various fixes — and explicitly listed additional work still in progress, including full controller support and Russian and Japanese localizations. On April 7, 2026, they followed through with Update 2.0, delivering those promised localizations along with full controller support and further improvements. On May 4, 2026, they shipped Update 2.3.0 adding Spanish (Spain) and European Portuguese translations, more bug fixes, and additional polish. In that final post, the developer stated they "will keep working on refining every detail." Both the soundtrack and artbook DLC were released simultaneously with the base game on March 30, 2026. The game is a small indie free-to-play title from a self-described team with no budget, and the updates have primarily been localization, accessibility, and polish work rather than new story content — but the developer has clearly been engaged in sustained post-launch development and has not indicated the game is finished being worked on.

About this game

What is a home?

The safest place — or at least, that is what it is for Camila…

In this psychological horror and interactive narrative experience, you play as Camila, a child wandering through a house shaped by memories, cracks, and scars that are not always visible.

The story unfolds through exploration, symbolism, and environmental narrative, inviting the player to interpret events and piece together a fragmented truth.

Nothing is shown directly.

Everything is felt.

This project was born from the desire to explore psychological horror from an emotional perspective.

This experience seeks reflection — not shock value.
