Absent is a free-to-play point-and-click adventure game originally completed and released by FNGames in 2013, which then made its Steam debut on August 31, 2015. The developer's own launch post on September 2, 2015 explicitly states the game "was finished and released initially back in 2013." A bug-fix patch (v1.2) was released on September 18, 2015 to address player-reported issues, and that is the last recorded communication from the developer. There is no DLC, no season pass, and no unreleased content listed on the store. The September 2, 2015 post mentioned a sequel (Absent II) and another FNGames title in development, but those are separate products — not planned additions to this game. The base game shipped as a self-contained, complete story, and there is no evidence of any post-launch content ever being planned or delivered for this title. The developer has had no communications since September 18, 2015, but this is consistent with the game having launched as a finished product with no further updates intended.

About this game
Absent is a story which follows the character of young-adult and college student, Murray Schull. He and his two best friends, Eve and Steve, attend a college in which students are disappearing daily. It’s up to them to find out how this is happening, why this is happening, protect their other friends, and to put a stop to it once and for all.
This series of events began when Crystal, a three month girlfriend of Murray’s friend, Steve, disappeared on her way home from college via mysterious means. Over the course of the investigation, however, Murray realizes that the abduction of Steve’s girlfriend was not from anything of this earth. Murray is haunted by visions of the past and future, confronted with puzzles, with friends turning against each other, and all for one reason. The Reaper.
