Ace Squared launched into Early Access on December 2, 2024, and has been under continuous, active development ever since. The developer has shipped patches at a steady pace — roughly every 4 to 8 weeks — covering new gameplay systems, weapons, maps, balance changes, networking improvements, and modding tools. As of May 3, 2026 (update v0.39), the team is still actively iterating on the game. A notable milestone arrived on December 1, 2025, when the developer transitioned the game to a partially free-to-play model. The base "Deuce" class became free, while the remaining classes (Miner, Sniper, Commando, Engineer) were bundled into a paid "Complete Class Pack" DLC, which launched that same day. Players who had purchased the game prior to the switch received the DLC at no extra cost. The game remains in Early Access — it has not reached a 1.0 release — and the consistent stream of substantial updates indicates the developer is actively working toward that goal. No 1.0 release date has been announced.
