BattleBit Remastered

BattleBit Remastered has been in Early Access on Steam since June 15, 2023 and remains there today. The developer has been actively communicating and building toward a sweeping update called Operation Overhaul, which touches nearly every aspect of the game — maps, audio, visuals, weapon balance, movement, vehicle physics, and more. The game shipped meaningful content updates in its first months of Early Access: Update 2.1.4 on September 17, 2023 (new map ZalfiBay, two new weapons, global leaderboards) and Update 2.2.2 on December 1, 2023 (new Invasion game mode, new weapon, new map Outskirts, overhauled cosmetic system). A January 15, 2024 developer post outlined restructuring plans and development goals for the year ahead. Since then, the team's efforts have been focused on Operation Overhaul. On October 13, 2025, the developer announced the update had been in development for roughly a year and a half and was nearing its first public playtest. That playtest went live on November 29, 2025, but ran into a significant memory leak in the new audio system. The team subsequently switched the entire audio backend to FMOD to resolve the issue, as detailed in a January 27, 2026 dev blog. Further blogs followed: a March 27, 2026 post detailed gameplay changes, weapon rebalancing, attachment reworks, and class overhauls; a May 27, 2026 post previewed two new maps (Mesa and Aftermath) and fully reworked versions of Lonovo and Salhan; and the most recent post on July 27, 2026 previewed additional large-scale maps, including the new Peaks map and major reworks of Wakistan, Sandy Sunset, and Valley. Operation Overhaul has not yet shipped to the live game. The developer is communicating actively and recently, with the last update posted on July 27, 2026 — less than two months before today's assessment date. The developer has also indicated that a performance playtest is planned before the full release of the update, meaning the final content is still in progress.
