After the Fall®

After the Fall launched on December 9, 2021 and received a series of free content updates over the following years. The Boulevard Update (March 24, 2022) added a new harvest map, weapon, and enemy. The Reclamation Update (September 15, 2022) added another harvest map, horde mode map, mutators, new weapon, and new enemy types. The most recent update to the game itself was the Nightfall Update on April 4, 2024, which added three horde maps, a new weapon (the Hunting Rifle), a ranking system, and significant UI and progression improvements. Since the Nightfall Update in April 2024, there have been no further updates, announcements, or developer communications specifically about After the Fall. All five DLC items listed on the store are released. The developer's Steam news channel has since focused entirely on other Vertigo Games titles — Metro Awakening (launched November 2024), Arizona Sunshine Remake (launched October 2024), and announcements for The 7th Guest Remake and a new non-VR Arizona Sunshine game (both announced in 2026). Vertigo Games remains an active studio, but the pattern of updates to After the Fall has stopped. The game shipped content updates roughly every 6 months from launch through April 2024, but more than 26 months have passed since the Nightfall Update with no follow-up communication about the game. There are no unreleased DLC items, no announced future content for After the Fall, and no developer statement promising more updates. The Nightfall Update appears to mark the end of the game's active content development.
