Evaluation
Age of Gladiators launched on February 25, 2016 and received a series of post-launch feature updates through April 25, 2016 — adding female gladiators, beast fights, gladiator origins, and various quality-of-life improvements. After that flurry of early updates, developer activity on this game stopped as Creative Storm Entertainment moved on to new projects: Age of Gladiators II was announced in June 2017, Deadwater Saloon was announced in October 2021, and as of early 2025 the developer is working on a sci-fi cRPG called Sector Unknown.
Notably, in March 2023 the developer launched Age of Gladiators Reforged — a complete remake of this original game built from scratch — explicitly describing it as a modernized version that "can be updated far easier than the old version." This effectively signals that the original Age of Gladiators (App ID 442500) has been superseded by its remake, with no further updates planned for the original title.
There are no unreleased DLC listings, no announced future content for this game, and no developer posts suggesting any ongoing work on it. The game launched as a finished product and received its final meaningful update in April 2016.
Evidence

Developer's most recent communications are entirely focused on Sector Unknown, a new sci-fi cRPG. No mention of any updates to the original Age of Gladiators.

About this game
A Potential Scenario
You’re almost out of money. Two more days and you will no longer be able to pay your staff or gladiators. The fight scheduled today will draw exceptionally massive crowds in the arena, meaning the fight purse will be bountiful and the opportunity to place a large volume of bets will be high. One problem though: your top gladiator is fatigued from his last combat and has a nagging shoulder strain. Plus, with a history of concussions, it’s fair to say he will not be at full strength if you put him in the arena. But he’s the best you’ve got. The rest of your stable of fighters are rookies yet – still working through training with your staff and far too inexperienced to send into this brutal blood sport.
The next fight is a week away and poorly hyped. You cannot wait that long.
If you were ruthless, you could execute your top fighter and seize his life savings. With the fight purses you’ve shared through his career, he has amassed a fortune that could keep your business sim-style operations afloat for months.
If that feels too dishonorable, you could visit the money lenders. But their interest rates have been brutal lately: 30% or more. Financing current operations and economy management this way would harm you long-term.
Or maybe you risk it all and send your fatigued but elite gladiator into the arena. Ranked 3rd overall in Leptis Magnus, he still has a real shot at victory in this high-stakes turn-based combat match.
But if he dies, you lose everything.
What do you do in this strategy sim of fame, reputation, and resource management set in ancient Rome?
